Katie Madden

Katie has been dedicated to dance from a young age. She trained at Nancy Chippendale’s Dance Studio in North Andover, MA, where she had the opportunity to perform and compete both nationally and internationally.

 

In 2004, Katie competed at the IDO World Tap Dance Championships in Riesa, Germany, where her team earned both gold and silver medals. She has also performed in Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida as a member of the Nancy Chippendale Dance Company, and later in Valletta, Malta as part of the Tap Reloaded 2 Tour in 2011.

Katie went on to attend the University of New Hampshire, where she earned a degree in Communication with minors in Spanish and Dance. From 2008 to 2012, she was a member of the UNH Dance Company, studying ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and aerial dance.

 

Following her undergraduate studies, Katie moved to Boston to complete her master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Northeastern University. She now works as an elementary-level speech-language pathologist while continuing to pursue her love of dance through teaching and professional development.

Katie has expanded her teaching and choreography experience through several arts organizations. She has taught and choreographed for Artbarn Community Theater’s Summer at the Barn program in Brookline, MA, taught classes at the Greater Boston Stage Company in Stoneham, MA, and choreographed for the Arts in Reach TheatreWorks program in Portsmouth, NH.
